Locked out,bored dog & cycling.

Apparently it’s been 19 days since I last posted, so apologies if I’ve left folk gripping their seats or delaying going out in case my next post arrived and you missed it!

The last 2 weeks on the Rally at Bonterra Park were much ‘same old, same old’. We would have left earlier ( used the old death of my best friends sister’s aunties next door neighbors budgie ruse but unfortunately we were committed (I know some people think we should be committed) so would have had to pay for the full time anyway.

On Friday 10 February,we headed south along the coast to Grao (where we stayed the night.before the rally). Things didn’t go quite as smoothly as expected as within a couple ofΒ Β minutes we’d locked ourselves out.

25 mins later with the help of our Dutch neighbors and a knitting needle we were in! Learning curve and procedure now in place to ensure that doesn’t Β happen again πŸ˜€

We spent a nice couple of days at Grao, however the change in Rockydog was unbelievable. For the last 3 weeks at Bonterra, trying to get him to walk was hard work. He’d do his business then scurry back to the van. We thought maybe his arthritis or something else was bothering him. Wrong! It was good old boredom. As soon as we were at Grao, he was out of the van like a shot, sniff, sniff, pee, sniff , pooh sniff – I’m sure you’ve got the picture .

We left Grao on Monday and headed for more wild camping at El Saler, south of Valencia where the weather was gorgeous. I had identified a couple of other wild camping sites further south for Tuesday night but again the weather was fabulous and I was out voted so we stayed another night.

We left El Saler on Wednesday morning on route to our present location, camping Benisol on the outskirts of Benidorm. On route we visited both aforementioned sites (Moraira & Calpe) and concluded that they will receive further attention from Mr & Mrs Mackenzie on another tripπŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Having arrived and pitched at Benisol it was a case of amusing ourselves until Jason arrived yesterday.

This morning Jason and I cycled to Calpe (25 miles return over a hilly coastal road) the highlight being that we overtook a racing team and their escort vehicles on one of the climbs. Not happy bunnies – made evident by the fact that when they eventually caught us up (on a downhill section) they boxed us in and prevented us making any progress!!!!!!!🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴

So after a good shower and a hearty brunch we’re ready to hit sunny (it is very sunny today) down town Benidorm for a few beers and a large slice of people watching.

Adios amigos. The next blog will be from Mac, Jason & Rockydogs road trip 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐 πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ πŸ‡«πŸ‡· πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§
